“I had the pleasure of working closely with Cindy Nachtigall for 10 years at the Fort Garry/St Norbert Healthy Child Coalition, where I was the Initiative Coordinator. Cindy was known and recognized for her commitment to welcoming newcomers and supporting families in the community. Over her 25 years with the Coalition, she led parenting and parent-child programs, organized community events, and connected families with local resources through outreach at schools and community events. Her dedication, flexibility, and contributions were highly valued, leading to her promotion to Program Coordinator and later Initiative Coordinator following my retirement.
Cindy was looked up to by program leaders and families attending the programs. Her love of children and families, and enthusiasm for people are evident in everything she does.
As I have stood behind her in the past, recommending her for the role of Coordinator, I would continue to put my trust in her as she continues her work as a School Trustee. I cannot emphasize enough how remarkable Cindy is at connecting with families. I am confident that she will continue to meet the high expectations required of her in this very important role.”

"I had the privilege of meeting Cindy 12 years ago and the pleasure to get to know her over the 5 years that I took my daughters to the wonderful drop-in program at a school where she was working. Cindy is very outgoing, personable and caring. She was involved with both the kids and parents through the program and is equally good at interacting with both kids and adults. She was able to make everyone feel welcomed. Cindy was always enthusiastic about all aspects of the program that included songs and stories to expose the kids to language and learning. She is very committed to the people in her community. In addition to the program, Cindy spent time gathering donations to be passed on to new immigrants in the community that she knew were in need of help. She would be an asset to the community as a school trustee looking out for the interests of all kids."

"I have been lucky enough to have known Cindy Nachtigall for almost 30 years. We first met when our children started school together. As she had 2 older children in the school division she was the utmost support to me and other parents new to “school life”. My connection continued with her work on the school parent council, many school activities, the lunch program at Prairie Sunrise (formally Ryerson). I also took my children to the Ryerson Family Centre where Cindy facilitated, inspired and displayed her mantra of for the love a child to all. Cindy has had a profound affect to hundreds and hundreds of families in her over 20 years of supporting and her work in the community, in the centre and as the Fort Garry/St. Norbert Coalition Coordinator. During the past few years as a School Trustee, Cindy has continued to support schools and the families by attending events and concerts. Through the work she has done, Cindy has demonstrated strong leadership, integrity and a commitment to equity and academic excellence. She approaches challenges with thoughtful questions and collaborative spirit, and she genuinely cares about every student and family. She also represented the community on the Fort Garry Community Network, where agencies from all over the south end of the city meet to share resources and gain information.
I am beyond proud to nominate my friend and mentor Cindy Nachtigall to continue her role as a School Trustee. I believe there is no one better to represent our families and community."

I have known Cindy Nachtigall for more than 30 years. As an educator, parent and long time Fort Richmond resident, I have nothing but positive admiration for her and highly recommend that she continue serving as our school board member. Cindy is hard working, energetic beyond words, experienced, well informed, and always positive. She is a visible presence in the community that she serves, showing up for school assemblies, concerts, graduations, special events and even offering her amazing talents to read to children in their classrooms. Cindy communicates respectfully and is genuinely interested in listening to the opinions of others. Her reliability and ability to work with others have made her a dependable member of the board. I am so happy to recommend that she once again be elected as a Pembina Trails School Trustee.

"I met Cindy 13 years ago when I was new to the city, a new mother, newly married, and new to being "out of the work force". So many things were new - a challenging time. One bright spot I could consistently count on was Cindy Nachtigall's smiling face at the Ryerson School Play Group. Cindy has worked there enthusiastically and consistently for decades, alongside volunteering for many community improvement network committees. I can't tell you how many parents (and grandparents) in the south end of Winnipeg owe their sanity and lifelong friendships to Cindy's welcoming nature and her amazing gift of connecting people.
Cindy's life experiences allow her the ability to relate to single parents, working parents, homemakers, homeschoolers, and everything in between. She has worked successfully with every type of child behaviour and seen every parenting style. She is the kind of person who treats you with respect, kindness, and humility regardless of your skin colour, language, or financial status. She loves children and has a grass roots understanding what children need. She gets it. She's been there. We need Cindy in a new role in the community. We need to vote her in as a school trustee for Pembina Trails School Division."

"I moved into the Fort Garry community with two children having lost my job, home and without friends or family support as a result of an abusive relationship. I met Mrs Nachtigall while looking for a job as Lunch Supervisor in Ryerson Elementary School and right away I felt like I had known her forever. Her encouragement and help made me discover a new me and my passion of caring for children. Because of her support I now work as a Child Care Assistant for a local daycare which gives me such joy and laughter every day, I feel restored."
Single Parent in Pembina Trails
"I have known Cindy for 16 years. I met her when she was in her role of program facilitator working with Fort Garry/St Norbert Healthy Child Coalition. I was a new mom and her support meant everything. She was approachable, enthusiastic, energetic, kind, welcoming and a wealth of knowledge. She has a great love for children, families and community and it makes her shine.
Over the years, my children have grown and she still continues to be a bright light in the community. During her prior term as School Trustee, I would run into her at my children’s winter concerts, cultural celebrations, farewells, during I Love to Read month where she always dresses up and reads to dozens of schools. If a school event was happening in Pembina Trails Ward 3, she would be present. She makes it a top priority to show up and be accessible as community involvement is very important to her.
There is no person better suited to have a voice in the direction of our children’s education. Cindy will continue to receive my unwavering support for re-elect as School Trustee."

Cindy is known as a community champion supporting families with children and encourages engagement in a wide variety of community activities and events. Cindy’s passion to see every child reach their potential is evident in the work she has carried on with as a School Trustee.
I support the re-election of Cindy Nachtigall in Ward 3 for School Trustee in the Pembina Trails School Division."

"I have known Cindy virtually my entire life which is over 40 years. We have been attending the same church ever since I was a young boy. I just wanted to take a minute to speak to the character of this lady. Considering our roots and connection formed in our church I would like to begin by saying she is not just one of those “Sunday morning” Christians but one that truly embodies what it is to be a good Christian when she walks out that church door. She lives Christ’s message 24/7 by being a humble servant full of compassion and love for all around her. How do I know this? Well if you ever met the children she raised you would understand how remarkable she is because they are the greatest kids. She taught her children to be loving, kind and respectful while nurturing their talents so they could realize their potential. I have always marveled at what fabulous young adults they have become and how strong a relationship they have with each other. You can learn a lot about a parent by how well the kids get along with them which always tells me they must have done something right at home. She lives the adage that if you want to fix the world you fix the family and she has certainly contributed to our community in a profound way by raising those wonderful children.
Cindy has not only used her gifts to prepare her children so well for the world but she has also shared her talents with other children. For over 20 years children all around the community have benefited from her ever cheery and positive disposition full of encouragement and love. She has volunteered her time and given all her energy to mentor and teach kids all over South Winnipeg. I know with her out there in our community teaching our young the same messages she taught her children that the world will be better for it. She is a true gem and walks the walk of all we have learned in church. I cannot think of a better person to represent our kids interests as the new School Trustee. I hope she gets the opportunity to continue to inspire all both young and old with a much larger platform as School Trustee. We will all be better for it."

“As the Assistant Director of Agassiz Child Care, I have been an advocate for children and child care for over 40 years. I have appreciated Cindy's similar vision for children, her support, and her advocacy for Child Care. She has even referred people to me who I have then hired. She knows what children need!”

"Cindy Nachtigall is a dedicated professional, and a compassionate role model that our community members can rely on. I had the pleasure of meeting Cindy almost a decade ago when my children and I were living in the shelter system. I started working for the lunch program at the elementary school where Cindy worked. Cindy was my greatest supporter who not only helped me adjust better in a new job, but she also made me feel welcomed and valued as a team member. Cindy inspired me to feel empowered as she helped me to build valuable skills. I have worked with Cindy in multiple capacities, and as my mentor she has taught me to trust my strengths and strive for resilience. I have been privileged to observe Cindy’s great deal of passion for our community and its members.
Cindy is always there to lend a helping hand and a compassionate shoulder for anyone in need. Cindy’s wisdom and achievements are clear indicator of a lifetime history of living and working in our community. Cindy has a wealth of knowledge to offer, and she will be a great asset as a Trustee in the Pembina Trails School Division."

"I am writing to provide my personal and professional endorsement of Cindy Nachtigall for School Trustee for Pembina Trails School Division. I have known Cindy for 16 years now. I first met her when I started taking my daughter to the Ryerson Family Center. I was so impressed with Cindy’s creativity and energy while leading the programming there. I had two of my own children that I took there, they absolutely loved it! They called it “Cindy School”. When I returned to work, I was working in the neighbourhood with single mothers, I would often refer them to the family centre as a way to end their isolation and to provide their children with social interaction. Cindy was the main selling point – I always raved about her creativity and boundless energy. I have sat on the board of the Fort Garry/St Norbert Healthy child coalition as well and had the pleasure of working alongside Cindy. Her energy and enthusiasm is evident in everything she does. I have also had Cindy present information on the local Family Centres in the Fort Garry River Heights area for a group of Social Work and Nursing students that were doing practicums in our office building. They too were quite impressed with Cindy, her energy, dedication and all that the family centres have to offer the community.
I honestly feel that the families of Pembina Trails School division would be very lucky to have Cindy represent their interests and advocate on their behalf if/when necessary within the school division."

"I have known Cindy for the last 25 years as our children have learned, grown and changed within the community we call Fort Richmond (Ward 3). Cindy has continued her involvement in a very hands-on way with reading programs, lunch programs, early years school preparation and social services agencies within the area, well passed her own children's involvement in the school system.
Cindy is often, truly, the bridge between new families, new cultures and new learning opportunities for all ages in Ward 3.
Cindy is well aware of the changing socio-economics which challenge the community in this day and time. She works well in team situations towards good solutions for the betterment of children, families and the community at large.
Cindy is proactive in her vision for the Ward and a real supporter of potential all-day kindergarten. Daycare spots are a challenge to find for all working parents and Cindy is keen to ensure children are safe and well provided for at all stages of their journey through the school system.
I wholeheartedly support Cindy for school trustee. Her voice will make a difference around the school board table, bringing fresh ideas and initiatives which all of Ward 3 constituents would benefit from. When the least of these is cared for, we are all cared for!
Cindy is compassionate, caring and courageous in living life. The Ward will continue to be strong with a leader like Cindy helping us to chart the way."

I have known Cindy through our church community in Fort Richmond and have always appreciated her genuine commitment to helping others and being involved in the community.
Over the years, I have seen Cindy contribute in many ways - from teaching Sunday School when her children were young to helping organize our much loved Soul Sisters Brunch and helping with our church’s annual garage sale and other community activities. Cindy is dependable, approachable, generous with her time and someone who genuinely cares about people.
I believe these qualities along with Cindy’s strong community spirit and willingness to get involved make her an excellent school trustee. I am pleased to support her candidacy.
